The builder of a low-carbon society

17.06.2013

Green Fuel Nordic participated in national Rio+20 seminar organized by the Ministry of Environment in early June, which was sub-titled as ”Towards implementation!”. The key message of real solutions offered by CEO Timo Saarelainen sank into good soil.

The seminar was a continuation for the national Rio+20 preparation seminar held in spring 2012. The seminar held in June 2013 examined of what is to be done in Finland in various sectors to achieve sustainable development and promote the green economy. Green Fuel Nordic was invited to the seminar to tell about the company’s solutions and its role in building a low-carbon society.

”Our main message that we utilize existing technology that enables distributed energy production based on  credible and sustainable raw material, was very well received”, says Green Fuel Nordic’s CEO Timo Saarelainen.

Additionally the fact that the second generation bio-oil can be a direct substitute for fossil fuels attracted positive statements. Commercial applications can already be found in heat production sector. Ships, transportation fuels and chemical industry are areas of applications in the near future. Bio-oil is only in the early phase of its commercial life cycle, and a longer term application can be substituting all fossil fuels.

A presentation held by Timo Saarelainen in the seminar can be found here.
