Green Fuel Nordic Oy purchased a land area for the biorefinery from Soinlahti

29.01.2013

Green Fuel Nordic has purchased a seven hectare land area from Iisalmen Teollisuuskylä Oy in Soinlahti industrial area in order to build a biorefinery there. Construction work will begin during the coming spring.

Green Fuel Nordic’s biorefinery project is progressing as planned. The land area company purchased is located in the industrial area of Soinlahti, between Anaika Wood Ltd Oy’s sawmill and the railway.

”It will be possible to build two biorefineries in the purchased land. Soinlahti is an attractive place for a biorefinery because, among other things, it is located in the midst of massive raw material reserves. Good road networks and railway connections also spoke on the behalf of Soinlahti” says Green Fuel Nordic Oy’s CEO Timo Saarelainen.

Green Fuel Nordic Oy’s biorefinery requires significant investments in the raw material supply chain. This enables the raw material partners to further develop their business.

Tontin etuihin kuuluu logististen etujen ohella sillä jo sijaitseva konttorirakennus, joka muuntuu helposti biojalostamohankkeen projektikonttoriksi.

In addition to thelogistic advantages, the existing office building situated in the purchased land can easily be converted into project office for the biorefinery project.

The price of the entire seven hectare property is 500 000 euros.

”Green Fuel Nordic Oy’s biorefinery is the first new industrial investment for the new industrial area in Soinlahti. The new area is seamlessly integrated with the already existing one and with the industrial plants there. Soinlahti is a traditional industrial area, and we believe that we will see other new players investing in processing of wood as well in the future”, says Iisalmen Teollisuuskylä Oy’s CEO Kari Luostarinen.
